Cormanthor Gorgons This regional breed of gorgons had a special ability, which some said was granted by the deities of the Hexad. A number of adventurers in the Sword Coast North were found to be riding them as mounts. As opposed to a dusky metallic sheen, these gorgons had a bluish hue to their bodies. Aberrant Gorgons Gorgons that had been twisted by the Far Realm powers of Gyrion Farseeker in the late 15 th century DR. Sub-Species Ī rare frozen gorgon specimen. If a scale somehow succumbed to intense rusting it would fall off the body - this left the gorgon vulnerable, since they were incapable of growing new ones. This substance was perpetually exuded from cartilaginous seams between the scales. The irregularly shaped scales that covered a gorgon were composed of impure iron and coated in a waxy substance that helped to prevent them from rusting. However, it was known that these vapors had no effect underwater and that they could easily be dissipated by an air elemental or similar force of moving air, such as by the gust of wind spell. By the 14th century DR, scholars still had yet to uncover how it functioned. This organ would continue to function hours after a gorgon was killed. This vapor was produced and stored in an internal organ that opened into the roof of their mouth. When exuded by a young gorgon, the size of that cloud was only half that of their adult counterparts. Some believed that their awareness even extended to the latter two planes. The petrifying green vapor that gorgons exuded from their mouths somehow existed simultaneously on the material, astral, and ethereal planes. Once a potential threat was petrified a gorgon would instinctively ignore the body. There was no way to calm them as they were impossible to domesticate. ![]() They were very aggressive creatures that attacked intruders on sight, attempting to trample or gore them or by breathing out a cone of green vapor that turned them into stone. Gorgons had an animal level of intelligence. 7.1.6 Organized Play & Licensed Adventures.

Santa gave it to me, the year that I was Naughty! Then are several excellent wooden dolls and toys. Behind it, is a French jointed doll, and behind him, is a portrait of Mickey, carved into a lump of coal. That Mickey car is very rare, with the original tiny Mickey in the rumble seat. Behind him, is a Mickey Mouse tin flute with the finger holes formed by the mouths of various characters. The little wooden Mickey, carrying a brass ashtray is commercial, not homemade. It is packed way too full with treasures, overlapping. H ere, beside the chair, is a showcase full of Amazing things that sort of gets ignored. Stuff, like this, all 12, all perfect, happens, only one time, in a lifetime. In the end, as you can see, I bought them, and have always been so glad I did. Here, on the corner, beside the barber chair, are three showcases that we haven’t looked at yet, and there is another, directly behind it, that we also haven’t seen. S o, this is as good a place as any to begin. I did everything, but have a haircut, there. All the creative endeavors of my life, every toy and doll design, beginning with the Outer Space Men, and all the Colorforms I made, were conceived and overseen, from this barber chair. ![]() This barber chair was like my second home. It provided me perspective on whatever I was working on. From this lofty perch, I could study the multitude of projects that, one after another, occupied my desk, just a dozen feet away. Over the years, I have done all my best thinking, and break-taking on this chair. And he gave it to us, when we were living in the empty loft on 26th street. Herb found this in his newly rented apartment that was formerly a beauty parlor. This chair was a gift from Herbert Kohl, a friend we knew in Paris. Before I got the computer, this was my domain. To begin: here is an area that's been ignored, the corner by the Barber Chair. ![]() So I’ll start by going through them, one by one. S hould I offer an overview of the whole place, or take it, case by case? There are some important showcases here, hiding in plain view. Here, too, are all the bookcases, cupboards, shelves, and drawers, that hold more, and more, and more. There’s lots of showcases I already photographed that didn’t fit into any category, and others that didn’t go before the camera, yet. “ T he World Upstairs” is more than just a way of saying “everything I overlooked, or failed to include, up till now.” This is destined to be the biggest page of all. most popular Real Book, Vocal Book and Gig Book for score music binders. While a flexible schema is a powerful feature, there are situations where you might want more control over the data structure and content of your documents. Through these advantages, the flexibility of the document data model is well suited to the demands of modern application development practices. When you need to make changes to the data model, the document database continues to store the updated objects without the need to perform costly ALTER TABLE operations - or worse, having to redesign the schema from scratch. Thirdly, if a new field needs to be added to a document, it can be created without affecting all other documents in the collection, without updating a central system catalog, and without taking the database offline. Developers can start writing code and persist objects as they are created. Secondly, there is no need to declare the structure of documents to the database – documents are self-describing. This flexibility makes it easier to model data of any structure and adapt the model as requirements change. One of the big attractions for developers using databases with JSON and BSON data models is the dynamic and flexible schema they provide when compared to the rigid, tabular data models used by relational databases.įirstly, MongoDB documents are polymorphic - fields can vary from document to document within a single collection (analogous to tables in a relational database). Most server-side programming languages have more sophisticated numeric types (standards include integer, regular precision floating point number aka “float”, double-precision floating point aka “double”, and boolean values), each with its own optimal usage for efficient mathematical operations. JSON does not, for instance, differentiate between integers (which are round numbers), and floating-point numbers (which have decimal One particular way in which BSON differs from JSON is in its support for some more advanced types of data. ![]() Just like JSON, BSON supports embedding objects and arrays. BSON is designed as a binary representation of JSON data, with specific extensions for broader applications, and optimized for data storage and traversal. JSON and BSON are indeed close cousins by design. ![]() String, Boolean, Number (Integer, Float, Long, Decimal128.), Array, null, Date, BinData String, Boolean, Number, Array, Object, null Third, BSON supports a variety of numeric types that are not native to JSON, and many languages represent these differently.Ĭheck your driver documentation to make sure you understand how to best access MongoDB BSON-backed data in your language. JSON objects have ordered keys, for instance, while Python dictionaries (the closest native data structure that’s analogous to JavaScript objects) are unordered, while differences in numeric and string data types can also come into play. Second, each programming language has its own object semantics. Unlike systems that store JSON as string-encoded values, or binary-encoded blobs, MongoDB uses BSON to offer powerful indexing and querying features on top of the web’s most popular data format.įor example, MongoDB allows developers to query and manipulate objects by specific keys inside the JSON/BSON document, even in nested documents many layers deep into a record, and create high-performance indexes on those same keys and values.įirstly, BSON documents may contain Date or Binary objects that are not natively representable in pure JSON. The driver will take care of converting the data to BSON and back when querying the database. When using the MongoDB driver for your favorite programming language, you work with the native data structures for that language. Anything you can represent in JSON can be natively stored in MongoDB, and retrieved just as easily in JSON. MongoDB stores data in BSON format both internally, and over the network, but that doesn’t mean you can’t think of MongoDB as a JSON database. ![]() ![]() For additional help or useful information, we recommend you check the official Chrome website.
